Synopsis
The help is a film inspired of the book "the help" written by Kathryn Stockett. It was realized by Tate Taylor and it was released in 2011 in the US. It's a comic drama during the 60's in the US during the racial segregation. A white woman named Skeeter dreams to be a writer. As she's revolted about living conditions of helps, she decides to write a collection of help's testimonies. To this end, she needs the support of two helps: Aibileen who accepts immediatly and Minny, more recluctant. Both are scared, but they front of their fears to convince other helps to bear witness their story. The book quickly becomes a best-seller despite whites women mainly miss Hilly who do everything that she can to keep helps under her control.
Film review
We have each think that it's one of the best films we have ever seen. It mixes comic and drama to denounce the racial segregation and the horrendous conditions of helps during the 60's in the US. It shows also the horrors that humans can do and the influence that can have only one people over a lot of people with Skeeter. The outrage of a minority can do react a majority like men like Nelson Mandela or Martin Luther King have done. Every actors are excellent and bring different reactions over the spectators, sometimes affected, sometimes outraged, and mainly the feeling that racism must disappear of the earth.
Significant scene

One of the most important scene for us is the moment when Skeeter is alone with Abileen in Skeeter's house and she is collecting Aibileen testimony. Suddenly, Minny enters and she sees the two womens, who are her friends. She finds it strange to be in friendly terms with white women; whites are the responsables their living conditons. Aibileen tries to explain to Minny that she testifies in order to improve their living condtions. It doesn't change anything for Minny who contests Skeeter because for her, it's an evidence of the pity that Skeeter has for helps and Minny tells that Skeeter does that because she considers that helps can't protect themselves alone.

    it is a very interesting review,, and I totally agree with your point of view. I think the choice of significant scene is good, because this scene is very mainful for the rest of the movie.

    This is a very interesting review of this wonderfull film, also i agree with you about that "it's one of the best films" i "have ever seen".

The Help Synopsis:  The story takes place in the city of Jackson, in Mississippi in the United States during the 60's. Skeeter, played by Emma Stone, is a young girl who is politically involved in the fight against the ill-treatment of black maids. She wants to become a writer and the situation of the black people inspires her to write a book. Synopsis:             “The Help” is an American drama film written by Tate Taylor in 2011, which denounce the segregation of black people in Jackson, Mississippi, during the Civil rights movement of the 60’s. The main characters are Viola Davis as Aibileen Clark, Emma Stone as "Skeeter" Phelan, Bryce Dallas Howard as Hilly Walters Holbrook, Octavia Spencer as Minny Jackson, Jessica Chastain as Celia Rae Foote and Allison Janney as Charlotte Phelan. The title refers to black women who work into homes of white people. They clean, baby-sit the children and cook. It talks about the story of a young woman who dreams to be a journalist: Skeeter. She works in a newspaper. She had to write a subject heading about cleaning advices. Our pitch: The Help is a period historical drama made by Tate Taylor in 2011. The film is adapted from the novel of the same name which was written by Kathryn Stockett. The main casting is mainly comprised of the very famous Emma Stone at the main character’s role and Viola Davis at the main black woman of the movie. The story deals with racial segregation in the USA. It tells the story of Skeeter’s fight against this segregation. She wants to write a book with the point of view of black maids: the two main women will be Aibileen and Minnie who are going to rebel in order to have a better treatment. Our review: The Help is a very touching movie which enables to make you think about the black people’s life conditions.
