Important scene
Skeeter decides to write a book from the point of view of "the help”.
Skeeter must leave his childhood city for write her book. She is influenced by
Hilly's plan and she is eager to write about something meaningful. Skeeter
hopes her book will shine a light on prejudice in the community. Aibileen,
Minny, and other maids are fearful but eager to tell their stories to the world
and decide to help her. This scene was very moving and it's a key moment of the
film. Skeeter meets Aibileen and Minny. These two women accepted to testimony
about their working conditions to hope for change. In the book wich they have
written they explain that they haven’t the same toilet as the family. They are forced to go outside to the toilet. They denonce also abuse of
maids, and the problems of racial segregation in the United States during the
1960s. Finally the book is published anonymously to protect Minnie and
Aibeleen.
Critical
The Help is a very good movie. There aren't a lot of films about racial
segregation. The way that it's filmed, with the 2 maids who describe their
lives and the fact that we can see them in the action. It allows us to see how
they are treated by the white’s people. The fact there are children is
renforced the idea of the hard working. The maids had to raise children, to
wash the house and the garden and to cook for the wealthy whites
owners. Movies about racism aren't current; it's for that we advise you to
see it. It's a very good rather movie. The Help is a very touching movie
because maids are poorly treated and in the scene when Aibeleen is fired. The
little girl is very sad and she cries at the window level seeing from Aibeleen.
Furthermore this movie treaty about an actual subject who touched a lot of
peoples today in the world, so he lets goes a message for everybody. On another
side, it was very funny because when the women read the book at the bed they
are choqued and edgy about maids, she screams!
